  1. I just heard it on Spotify and it's rad. I'm super excited for the album.
  2. I was wondering if any of you guys will be participating in Record Store Day Black Friday and if so, what releases are you interested in? A few I'd like to pick up are: The Byrds-Sweetheart of the Rodeo (Legacy Edition) Sheryl Crow-Tuesday Night Music Club Soul Asylum-The Twin Tone Years Violent Femmes-Permanent Record So, what about you guys?
  3. I just grabbed a copy of this on cd from my record store's used bin a couple of days ago. You're 100% right.
  4. Man, I haven't played board games in sooo long, but we used to play Monopoly and Sorry when I was a kid. There's a dude I know at the flea market I work at that sells toys and he has a TON of board games. I need to buy a couple.
  5. The first time I heard Ben was when Radish played "Little Pink Stars" on the Weird Al Show. I was about 14 and thought the song was really cool, but I didn't have money then so I couldn't buy the album. The only music I was exposed to was what came on the radio and since our local rock station sucks, I never heard any of Ben's solo stuff (I listened to a lot of music, but was kind of in a bubble). Flash forward to about a year ago I was like "Hey, whatever happened to that band Radish?" I Wikipedia searched, found out about Ben's solo albums, went on Spotify and listened to "Go Fly A Kite". What an awesome album! I bought all of his solo albums within the next couple of weeks and love them all. So really I'm a new fan.
  6. Yes! I love this soundtrack too, my bro gave it to me. No shame in the Wikipedia copy-paste. I did the same on my initial post. lol
  7. Man, that's a great one and I always forget that "Help" and "A Hard Day's Night" are soundtracks for some reason. I love the "Head" soundtrack by the Monkees too!
  8. No, I've heard of both bands, but I'm not familiar with them at all. I'm gonna check 'em out though. Lately, I've been trying find different stuff to listen to. I'm bad about getting into one or two things so much that I miss out on a lot of other cool stuff.
  9. That's not lame at all! I love female vocalists. I'll check it out.
  10. Hey, guys! I was curious to know if there are any soundtracks that you really enjoy. My favorite is "Godzilla: The Album" from the 1998 Godzilla movie. In my opinion the movie is pretty terrible, but the soundtrack has lots of the mid to late 90's bands that I love. I really like the songs from RATM, Ben Folds Five, Green Day, and Silverchair. The Foo Fighters song "A320" is one of their best ever as far as I'm concerned, and Michael Penn's "Macy Day Parade" is so good. So, do you have any favorites? I wanna know! 1. "Heroes" The Wallflowers 2. "Come with Me" Puff Daddy featuring Jimmy Page 3. "Deeper Underground" Jamiroquai 4. "No Shelter" Rage Against the Machine 5. "Air" Ben Folds Five 6. "Running Knees" Days of the New 7. "Macy Day Parade" Michael Penn 8. "Walk the Sky" Fuel 9. "A320" Foo Fighters 10. "Brain Stew" (The Godzilla Remix) Green Day 11. "Untitled" Silverchair 12. "Out There" Fuzzbubble 13. "Undercover" Joey DeLuxe
  11. Yeah, it's one of those albums where every song is great. No filler at all. I don't really know much about her, I'd only heard a couple of songs off of her first album. Now I've gotta go and buy that record too!
  12. The new Courtney Barnett album is amazing.
  13. I just picked up The War on Drugs album "A Deeper Understanding" and I'm loving it. I know it's been out for about nine months, but I'd never heard any of their stuff. Great band.
  14. Thanks man! Weird RSD story though. I was 13th in line and they were letting six people in at a time , waiting one minute, and letting another group of six in. The first two groups get in and myself being thirteenth was on deck. When I thought they were about to let me in, one of the guys who works there runs out the door in a panic. A woman had passed out and taken a bad spill so they had to call an ambulance. We were freaked out because she wasn't getting up. She did eventually though and the medics came and helped her out (low blood sugar, I think). Their one copy was still sitting there when I finally got in. Strange, strange day...
  15. I love Weezer too, but I agree that they've been pretty disappointing. After "Raditude" and "Hurley", "Everything Will Be Alright In The End" was a breath of fresh air. I was so hopeful that they would stay on that track. I really enjoyed the white album too. I got about two songs deep into "Pacific Daydream" and I had to turn it off. I wish Rivers would have repeated the line "We belong in the rock world" from "Back To The Shack" to himself a thousand times before he wrote any of those songs. Weezer just comes across to me as disingenuous now. Like they're trying to pander to everyone so they can sell more records. Hopefully, that's not true and they're doing what they love. I just can't get into it.
